Nev Davies underwent his basic medical training at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London and qualified in 2000.

After completing basic surgical Training in London he moved to Oxford and spent six years on the Oxford Orthopaedic Specialist Registrar training programme where he developed an interest in adult knee surgery and children’s orthopaedics. In 2009 he undertook a fellowship in Sydney, working at the Children’s Hospital Westmead, specialising in children’s orthopaedics.

Nev was made a substantive NHS consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in November 2011. He has been involved in teaching and research throughout his career, and is currently the Orthopaedic Tutor. He edited the successful Oxford FRCS (Tr&Orth.) VIVA Book published by Oxford University Press, which was written based on his own famous revision slides for FRCS (Tr&Orth.) exam.

Nev has a specialist expertise in children’s and adolescent knee conditions. His main interest is currently in the prevention of sports injuries in children. He has founded and developed a targeted sports performance enhancement and injury prevention programme in local schools around Berkshire and Oxfordshire. He is also heavily involved in charity work, having raised over £4,000 in the last year for the Royal Berks Charity. He is currently fundraising again by competing in the 'Race to the Stones' 100km ultramarathon in July 2019.
