
Olufemi Ayeni is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University.
Olufemi completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at McMaster University. Following this, he completed two years of additional Sports Medicine Fellowship Training, first at the University of Ottawa/Carleton Sports Medicine Clinic (Sports Medicine and Knee Surgery) under the direction of Donald H Johnson, and then at the Hospital for Special Surgery/Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York (Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery).
While in New York, Olufemi was the Assistant Team Physician for the New Jersey Nets (NBA) and Iona College (NCAA). Also, in New York, he received dedicated training in Hip Arthroscopy under the direction of Bryan Kelly.
In his first year of practice, Olufemi spent a month in Europe as a Visiting Fellow in Hip Preservation and Hip Arthroscopic Surgery at the Schulthess Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland and at Orthopadische Chirurgie Munchen in Munich, Germany.
Olufemi’s clinical practice focuses on athletic injuries and non arthritic conditions of the hip, knee and shoulder in adolescents and adults. His research focus is on Outcomes Research in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery.
